WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Virginia Tech women's soccer players Ashley Stinson (Acworth, Ga.) and freshman Laurie Beth Puglisi (Arlington, Va.) have been selected to the Wake Forest Invitational All-Tournament team.

The tournament, which concluded Sunday in Winston-Salem, consisted of four teams, San Diego, Santa Clara, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.

Stinson, a 5-foot-6 forward, scored Tech's goal in a 2-1 overtime loss to San Diego on Friday. It was her second of the season. While Puglisi recorded a goal in the Hokies' 3-1 defeat to Santa Clara on Sunday. It was the first goal surrendered by the fifth-ranked Broncos this season.

Wake Forest's Keisha Garrick was named the tournament's defensive MVP, while forward Elizabeth Remy was tabbed offensive MVP.

The host Demon Deacons won the tournament tie-breaker by scoring more total goals (five) than Santa Clara (three). The two teams each finished with a 1-0-1 record for the tournament.

Virginia Tech (1-2-1 overall) will look to get back on track with two more non-conference matches next weekend, beginning with a 7:30 p.m., contest at the College of Charleston, Friday.
