BLACKSBURG, Va. - Virginia Tech midfielder Molly McCall (Falls Church, Va.) has been named to the 2005 ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District III third team.

The senior captain has a 3.26 grade point average in accounting.

In her final season in the Chicago maroon and burnt orange, McCall enjoyed one of her most productive campaigns. The 5-foot-3 midfielder tallied a career-high three assists and nearly matched her top season in points, with five.

McCall scored her first career game-winning goal in Tech's triumph over ACC rival Miami on Sept. 29.

She was one of nine Atlantic Coast Conference athletes named to an Academic All-District team.

The Hokies completed their season on Oct. 26 with a 2-0 triumph over Radford University to finish 6-10-3 overall.
