BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Virginia Tech women's soccer duo of Marika Gray and Kelly Lynchcontinue to earn postseason awards as they were named to the Soccer Buzz Freshman All-America third and fourth team, respectively, the publication announced this week.

They are the first Hokies since 2004 to receive Freshman All-America honors. That year, Ashley Stinson became the first player to earn All-America honors of any kind in Tech women's soccer history as she was named to the Soccer Buzz Freshman All-America second team.

The only forward to be named to the Soccer Buzz All-Mid Atlantic Region team (third) and freshman team, Gray (Alexandria, Va.) ended the regular season with a team-leading eight goals and six assists for a total of 22 points. Gray became the first Hokie since Emily Barnhart (2000-03) in 2002 to lead the squad in both goals and assists. She was previously named to the All-ACC second team and the All-ACC freshman team.

Lynch, a native of Mullica Hill, N.J., earned a spot on the All-Mid Atlantic Region freshman team alongside Gray. The defender was on the field every single minute of the season, playing a pivotal role in helping Tech allow a school-record low 20 goals against 18 teams, including 11 NCAA Tournament participants. Lynch also took most of the free kicks during the season and finished the year with two assists, including one on Gray's game-winner against then-No. 13 Tennessee. She was previously named to the All-ACC freshman team.
