BLACKSBURG, Va. - Senior Emily Jukich was named one of this week’s Primetime Players by collegesoccer360.com for her clutch performance against Miami over the weekend. This is the first time Jukich has been honored by the website while teammates Marika Gray, Kristin Carden and Julian Johnson were all previously honored this year. Seven of this week’s 22 honorees, including Jukich, are members of ACC schools.
Jukich, who was recently named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District III third team, scored her second game-winner of the season, eighth of her career, on Friday night. She broke the tie with seven seconds remaining in the match. Jukich was able to rise above all in the box as both teams scrambled and get a head on the ball redirecting it into the back of the net. The Clifton, Va., native has been a big role players for the Hokies this season and is one of the most important leaders for her team in her final season. She will leave Tech as the all-time leading scorer with 29 career goals, four of which have come this season, while she has also tacked on two assists.
