    No. 15 Hokies set to face No. 9 Duke tonight and Oklahoma on Sunday
    Tech ready for a top-15 matchup tonight against the Blue Devils at 7 p.m.

    • The Hokies are coming off a 1-0 shutout over No. 18 Maryland Sunday and look to continue the ACC success tonight against a tough No. 9 Duke squad. Sunday, Virginia Tech will take a break from the brutal conference and face Oklahoma at 5 p.m. for the last non-conference matchup this season.

    TONIGHT’S MATCH

    • Thursday marks the fourth team Virginia Tech will face that is ranked nationally

    • Duke is coming off a 1-0 loss to No. 7 Virginia this past Sunday

    • The Blue Devils also lost to No. 1 Florida State and tied Maryland earlier this season

    • Laura Weinberg leads Duke with 11 goals, four assists and 51 shots

    • Tara Campbell has played all 12 games in goal and has allowed 13 goals and made 29 saves

    • As a team, the Blue Devils have outscored their opponents, 37-14

    THE SERIES

    • This marks the 10th meeting between the two teams and Duke leads 8-1

    • The series dates back to 2004 the first year Virginia Tech entered the ACC

    • The Hokies’ only win came in 2008 when Duke was ranked No. 11 in Blacksburg

    • The Blue Devils have outscored the Hokies 24-6 in the series

    • Duke has been ranked in every meeting except two (2009 and 2007)

    • This is the third meeting Virginia Tech has been ranked in the top 25

    SUNDAY’S MATCH

    • Virginia Tech steps out of the brutal ACC for a 5 p.m. matchup against Big 12 opponent Oklahoma

    • The two teams are battling each other for the first time in program history

    • The Sooners are coming off a 1-1 tie against No. 17 Oklahoma State in their second meeting this season

    • On Sept. 7, Oklahoma knocked off the No. 3 Cowgirls, 1-0, in Norman, Okla.

    SUNDAY AT 5PM

    • Last Sunday’s game against Maryland marked the first time the Hokies have played a 5 p.m. game this season

    • The last time Virginia Tech played a 5 p.m. match was Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011 at then-No. 6 Maryland

    • The Hokies fell 2-1 at Ludwig Field after having the 1-0 lead at halftime

    • Virginia Tech plays three 5 p.m. games this season

    MECHANICSBURG RIVALS

    • Sophomore Jodie Zelenky and Duke’s freshman Cassie Pecht meet again for the first time in two years

    • The two are from the same hometown, Mechanicsburg, Pa., and attended rival high schools

    • Zelenky played for Mechanicsburg High School and Pecht attented Cumberland Valley High School and they competed against eachother for three years

    • Zelenky has started the past four games at midfield and will go against Pecht, a forward that has started all 12 games for the Blue Devils

    LAST TIME OUT

    • The Hokies bounced back after a two-game ACC losing streak last Sunday with a 1-0 win over Maryland

    • Junior Katie DeTuro notched the game-winner at the 43:49 mark to lift the Hokies over the Terps

    Dayle Colpitts recorded her 16th career shutout and is just five away from becoming Virginia Tech’s all-time leader

    • The shutout was the Hokies ninth this season, two away from tying last season’s school record (11 in a season)

    SHUTTING OUT LEFT AND RIGHT

    • The Hokies made history as they recorded their longest consecutive shutout streak in program history

    • The 3-0 shutout over NC State on Sept. 16 was Virginia Tech’s sixth-straight shutout which broke the Hokie record (5) which dates back to 1994

    • Nebraska, North Carolina and Boston College are the only teams to score on the Hokies this season and Virginia Tech has outscored its opponents 23-7
