Hokies add two more for 2014
White and Perez join women's soccer for fall season

BLACKSBURG, Va. -- The Virginia Tech women’s soccer team has completed its 2014 class by adding an additional pair of newcomers for the fall season, as announced by Head Coach Chugger Adair on Tuesday.

Michelle White and Erika Perez will put the finishing touches on the incoming class as the Hokies prepare for the 2014 season. Tech will be looking to build off of last year, which saw the Hokies reach their first-ever NCAA College Cup.

High School/Club: Four-year letterwinner at Rappahannock HS under Coach Rich Hogan ... Named team captain from sophomore year through graduation ... Four-time First Team All-Bull Run District ... Honorable mention All-State as a freshman and sophomore ... Second Team All-State as a junior ... Coach Adair’s Take: “Michelle is extremely fundamentally sound as a player; she is very well balanced, technical and reads the game very well. She will compete for starting spots on our back line and provide depth as well. Michelle is a good student who will study engineering and be a perfect fit to our team culture.”

    Erika Perez
5-7, Forward, Pleasanton, Calif. (Monte Vista HS)
High School/Club: Four-year letterwinner at Monte Vista HS under Coach Bret Lequene ... Led team to NCS quarterfinals ... Coach Adair’s Take: “Erika is a front-runner who came to us later in the recruiting process. She is an athletic forward who has proven to find the back of the net with her club team (Mustang) in Danville, California. Erika will add depth and versatility to our team, as she can play both wide and centrally. I really enjoyed her visit last year and look forward to see her impact on our team.”
