    Virginia Tech olympic sports to be televised in nine regular season games
    ACC announces broadcast schedule for cross country, soccer and volleyball

    GREENSBORO, N.C. –Virginia Tech will appear in nine televised regular-season games across three sports, as announced Tuesday by the ACC.

    Tech’s men’s soccer team will be seen on TV in three games including one at Thompson Field when they face off against preaseason No. 11 Wake Forest on ESPN3 on Sept. 19 at 8:30 p.m. A week later, when the team travels to NC State on Sept. 26, the game will air on ESPN3 at 7 p.m. The last regular season broadcast will be on ESPN3 at 7 p.m. on Oct. 10 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where the Hokies play preseason No. 22 North Carolina. The ACC Championship semifinal will air on Nov. 14 on ESPN3, and the final will air on Nov. 16 on ESPNU.

    The Hokie volleyball team will appear in three nationally-televised games on ESPN3 when Virginia comes to town on Oct. 12 at 1 p.m. and Tech travels to preseason No. 13 Florida State on Oct. 19 at 1 p.m. The Hokies’ scuffle with preseason No. 21 Duke will also appear on ESPN3 on Nov. 2 at 1p.m.

    One of last year’s NCAA College Cup participants, the Virginia Tech women’s soccer team, will face off against Clemson on Sept. 19 at 6 p.m. on ESPN3. When the Hokies travel to preseason No. 4 North Carolina on Oct. 3, the ACC’s regional sports network will cover the event at 4 p.m. Tech’s last regular-season game against Louisville on Nov. 1 will air on ESPN3 at 6 p.m. The ACC semifinal games will broadcast on ESPN3 on Nov. 7, and the ACC Championship game will broadcast at 1:00 on ESPNU on Nov. 9.

    The ACC Cross Country Championships will air on Oct. 31 at 11 a.m. on ESPN3.

    In addition to the nine broadcasted games, HokiesXtra will air various olympic sporting events, which will be announced at a later date.

    This fall’s slate of 121 broadcasted ACC games breaks the previous record of 101 broadcasted games from last year.
