Women's Tennis to Compete in ITA Eastern Regional
Three Hokies receive first round byes

BLACKSBURG, Va. -- Virginia Tech will be well represented at the ITA Women's Tennis Eastern Regional Championships Nov. 4-7 hosted by William & Mary. The tournament will feature players from over 35 NCAA Division I schools battling for the right to advance to the 2001 Rolex National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships held on Feb. 1-4 in Dallas, Texas. Players in the event were chosen based on their fall results by a selection committee.

The Hokies' Antonella Pozzi, Kristen Stubbs and Ines Khelifi all received first round byes and will see their first singles action on Sunday. Pozzi and Stubbs, who are seeded 17-24 in the tournament, will see doubles action on Sunday as will the team of Bridget Bruner and Kristin Lanio. The final draw for the event will take place at the Friday night coach's meeting.
