Hokies obtain Regional Ranking
Stubbs earns ranking in East Region

BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Virginia Tech women's tennis team had one singles player and one doubles team receive Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings in the East Region. The region includes 96 teams and over 700 players.
Kristen Stubbs (Sr., Hilton Head, S.C) is ranked 30th following a 4-5 fall season against some of the region's best players. Stubbs played at the top of the Tech lineup last season.
In doubles, Stubbs and Ginger Lowdermilk (Jr., Bossier City, La.) are ranked 13th following a 6-4 fall season.
The Hokies were 17-11 last year and finished third in the BIG EAST tournament. Tech opens the dual-match spring season on Jan. 18 hosting Radford (9 a.m.) and James Madison (4 p.m.). All Tech home matches are played in the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center on the Virginia Tech campus.
