CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – On the final day of the ITA Atlantic Regional, the Virginia Tech women’s tennis team wrapped up play in the doubles semifinals. The last day of the regional, hosted by the University of Virginia, consisted of the main draw singles final and the final two rounds of doubles play.
The Hokies’ doubles team of sophomore Raluca Mita and freshman Francesca Fusinato’s impressive run through the doubles bracket was halted in the semifinals as they fell to the No. 7 pairing in the country, William & Mary’s Maria Belaya/ Jeltje Loomans, 8-3.
The Hokies will have some time off before wrapping up the fall season at the Kitty Harrison Invite, hosted by North Carolina Nov. 8-10.
